Molchan Marine Sciences provided timely and critical information describing underwater mine detection, classification, identification and prosecution. The purpose of the project was to develop a methodology for identifying minelike targets, assessing and reducing risk within the maritime environment. MMS created a library of mine countermeasures information for decision makers and technology transfer professionals. Molchan Marine Sciences possesses real world experience in Mine Countermeasures (MCM) stemming from experiences as the Officer in Charge of an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Diving Detachment as well as working with Navy Warfare Development Center, Newport RI in Concepts department in the MCM arena.
